Since 1992 the Lighten The Load mission has remained the same - to get - and keep people healthy on the road and on the go. With a vision of treating each client based on their individual needs and using a "team approach" by working together with the client's medical team Lighten The Load has proved to be quite successful with positive outcomes for their clients.

With the launch of the TeleFit-411 programs Lighten The Load has widened their reach with class participants throughout the country.

The Lighten The Load team utilizes trained and certified Lighten Up Lifestyle wellness coaches and health professionals from the fields of nutrition, healthy cooking, communication, counseling and weight management.

In order to support families and children in getting and staying healthy Lighten The Load is also a licensed provider of Shapedown. The nation's leading weight management program for children, teens and families.

Faith A. Lightfoot is an Exercise Physiologist (B.S.), wellness coach, author, speaker and entrepreneur. Faith’s passion for health and wellness spans more than two decades; first, as a teenager who was raised in a health conscious family, later as an Exercise Physiologist and Wellness Coach. Layering over 20 years of business and wellness experience in corporate America with such companies as IBM and Bally’s, coupled with health and wellness businesses in Charlotte, North Carolina and Boca Raton Florida, has provided a solid foundation that Faith employs to support her wellness business and passion.

Faith's passion for working in the field of bariatrics, obesity and weight management sent her back for a second degree in the field of Exercise Science in 1989. Since 1992 Faith has been writing, conducting health and wellness programs along with educating individuals on how to achieve safe weight loss and hormonal balance through sound, proven principles. Her passion for children’s weight issues is what led Lighten The Load to become a licensed provider for the Shapedown children’s programs.

Faith is the founder and president of Lighten The Load.net. as well as the author of Getting Healthy In A 30-Minute World and co-author of Cooking Healthy In A 30-Minute World. When Faith is not writing and overseeing Lighten The Load operations she enjoys giving talks to parents groups, business and church organizations, sharing her creative, fun and sensible tools and techniques for creating and living healthy and balanced lives.

jenny1.jpgJenny Dalsing, MA, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Jenny graduated in 1999 from Texas A&M University with a bachelors of science in Psychology. She then went on to The University of Houston, Clear Lake to earn a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Jenny brings her 10 years of experience counseling families, children and couples to the Lighten The Load team and our Shapedown families.

Jenny is married with 2 young sons and enjoys cooking, walking and spending time with her family.

Dr Penny Otey, PhD, received her doctorate from Texas A&M University, in Communication in 2010. Dr Otey specializes in conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, group facilitation practices, group problem solving, effective listening, and leadership development.

Along with over 20 years in the area of communication Dr Otey brings her expertise from the bariatric field as a consultant for Lighten The Load. Serving as a program coordinator for a bariatric practice Dr Otey is aware of the needs and challenges that bariatric patients require pre and post surgery.

Dr. Otey is a member of the National Communication Association and Obesity Action Coalition and in her spare time Penny enjoys playing with her dogs, working out, reading, traveling and relaxing with friends and family.

Patty Davis

Patty Davis serves as the Nutri-chef consultant for Lighten The Load, is president of Cook At Home.biz., and creator of Recipes To Flip Over. This North Carolina-based healthful cooking company provides personal training programs, cooking classes, and specialty cookbooks. Beginning with its roots of personal chef services in 2000 as The Good Life Food Company, Patty grew this small home-based catering company by serving such clients as NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, former Redskins coach Joe Gibbs, as well as hundreds of corporate executives, small business owners, and busy families. Her success lies in her consistent desire to teach others how to cook at home using fresh and healthy selections using the finest ingredients available.

By day, Dr Lightfoot is the Omar Smith Endowed Professor and Director of the Sydney & J. L. Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine & Human Performance at Texas A&M in the Department of Health & Kinesiology. By night, Dr. Tim Lightfoot serves as the science consultant for Lighten The Load. Dr. Lightfoot received his doctorate from the University of Tennessee, completed a research consultantship with NASA at Kennedy Space Center in the Biomedical Laboratory, and then a three year National Institute of Health postdoctoral research fellowship in the Division of Physiology at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Lightfoot has published over 50 scientific, peer-reviewed articles on the genetics of daily physical activity and exercise endurance, as well as the physiological response to high-G exposure and hemorrhage and is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health to conduct research on the genetics of physical activity and exercise.

Dr. Lightfoot is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, a Certified Exercise Specialist, a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, the Past-President of the Southeast Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the American College of Sports Medicine. He has been named Teacher of the Year twice at two different Universities and has been active in working in protection of human and animal subjects. In his spare time Tim enjoys playing his bass, reading, traveling and relaxing with friends and family.

kasey_0.jpgKasey Lobb, MS, RD, LD holds both bachelor and master degrees from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. After many years of working for St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling services, Kasey opened her independent nutrition counseling practice in Bryan/College Station in 2007.

With over ten years of experience in nutrition science and counseling coupled with her ability to educate and connect with individuals Kasey’s goal has remained the same - to help people develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

As a member of the American, Texas, and Mid-East Texas Dietetic Associations, she stays up to date on nutrition fads and science. In her spare time Kasey loves spending time with her family, Bible study, travel experimental cooking, and swimming.
