Gilligans Steamer Bar

Gilligans Steamer and Raw Bar is around the corner from Oak Plantation. The menu was varied with options for seafood and non-seafood diners. They had an all you can eat shrimp meal when we were there and the shrimp were delicious. The service was good and the menu is varied. Check out their website for location information. A nice casual place for lunch or dinner.

Bessingers Barbecue

This is a restaurant that we found just by driving by. On our way into Charleston for some sightseeing we noticed the packed parking lot at lunchtime. On our way back to the campground we noticed the line of cars wrapped around the building waiting for drive through at dinner time. Now, when you see that kind of traffic at a restaurant you know that something has to be good. So, we decided to give it a try and pulled through the drive through. Many folks think that if your goal is to eat healthy than you cant have barbecue. That's not true . Remember, its about moderation and staying active.

Cindys Seafood & Country Market

Once again, we found this restaurant driving to Seabrook and Kiawah,SC. Cindys seafood is locally owned and family operated. You can get certified organic produce here as well as a great lunch or dinner. We were here at lunch time and we had the crab cake sandwich and homemade gumbo. Both were fresh and delicious. The crab cake was full of crab and very little filler. The gumbo was loaded with sausage, okra and the right amount of spice. You order at the counter, sit inside or out on the porch and they bring your meal to you.

Pat O'Brien's - New Orleans, LA

My last visit to New Orleans left me without the opportunity to visit this well-known stop. I had heard so much about their world famous drink, the Hurricane, that I made sure this time I had the chance to check it out. This drink comes in a huge souvenir glass adorned with an orange slice and a cherry. I would recommend making sure that you have something to eat and one drink is probably more than enough as they are pretty potent. I also ordered up the hamburger and fries. The burger was large, the fries were hot. Definitely a treat! If you can, sit on the patio.

Parallax, West 11th and Fairfield, Cleveland, Ohio

If you are strictly meat and potatoes this trendy, upscale restaurant may not be for you. The Sushi and Sashimi are the best in Cleveland and made fresh to order. However, it is not strictly a seafood and sushi place. Short ribs, lamb chops, pork tenderloin and filet round out the menu. The service was great and reasonably priced with generous portions. Reservations suggested.
